Parkinson Plaza Medical Centre runs on an appointment system. Patients with appointments will have preference except in cases of emergency. Appointments are made at 15 minute intervals. If you feel you require a longer consultation please discuss this with the receptionist prior to making an appointment.
You can make an appointment with any of the centre’s Doctors:
Please advise our receptionists immediately if you require immediate attention for matters such as chest pain, burns, eye injury etc.
Our Doctors endeavour to run to time, however emergencies do happen and straightforward matters can turn into longer consultations. Please phone the medical centre before your appointment to check whether your Doctor is running on time. For continuity of care it is recommended to see your usual doctor. If they are not available you are welcome to see one of the other doctors in the medical centre.
We encourage patients to advise of their cultural background and emergency contact.
A fee may be charged for non-attendance of an appointment.
We have an arrangement with Family Care Medical Services to provide after hours care for our patients. Please call 13 SICK (137 425) anytime outside of our opening hours.
This medical centre is always happy to receive feedback and suggestions that may improve our services. All suggestions or complaints made in writing will receive full consideration. A box is provided at reception for your suggestions or you can contact us here.

Your medical record is a confidential document. It is the policy of this medical centre to maintain security of personal health information at all times and to ensure that this information is only available to authorised members of staff.
Practice policy for any prescription requirements is that the patient needs to present for an appointment with their regular GP.
If your regular GP is unavailable we are happy to book an appointment for you with an alternative doctor.
Usual consultation fees will apply for these appointments.
An appointment is required to discuss all pathology results unless the doctor has instructed differently. This ensures clear explanation and ongoing advice.
Doctors are not normally contactable during their working hours by phone. A message will be taken and the doctor will contact you at their earliest convenience. If the matter is urgent, the doctor may accept your call or contact you as soon as possible.
An appointment is necessary for a referral to a specialist. For legal reasons, Doctors will not back date referrals.
This practice has an excellent system in place to remind you of follow up services such as Pathology results, Immunisations, Pap Smears, Health Assessments etc. A phone call or personal letter is sent to assist you in the monitoring of your health. Our medical centre participates in the National & State Government Reminder Systems, eg Pap Smears. If you do not wish to participate, please notify your doctor at the time of consultation.
This medical centre will provide, on receipt of a formal request from your new doctor, a copy or summary of your medical file. There is a fee for this service.
Treatment room fees for consumable items (i.e. dressings) will apply where applicable. Please enquire with the reception team for further information.
Payment for any work related injury/illness claims is the responsibility of the patient. Accounts are to be settled at the time of consultation and then forwarded to your relevant work insurer for reimbursement. Please inform the Receptionist and Doctor that the visit is a work related issue.
It is our policy that once your claim has been APPROVED, we are happy to forward accounts direct to your insurer.
X-rays are now usually sent electronically direct to Doctors. If however you are provided with films of your X-ray please bring them with you to see your Doctor. Patients returning with urgent X-rays will be fitted in upon arrival. All other X-ray investigations require follow up appointments. X-rays are often important for future comparisons by radiologists. These are your property and we ask that you keep them.
